Ayurveda is a 3000+ year old practice that focuses on balancing different aspects of your body’s system to ensure holistic wellbeing. Ayurvedic solutions are exclusively herbal in nature and use different medicinal plants, sometimes in combination with lifestyle practices and treatments, to improve health.

Many companies that provide Ayurvedic products have not tested the efficacy and safety of their formulas. We ensure that each of our products undergoes rigorous clinical testing and validation before we put it into the market. Additionally, we only use whole ingredients in our products, unlike the common practice of using extracts, to ensure that we maximize the benefit of each ingredient we use.

We are very careful to never use any heavy metals in our products, either in the ingredients or in the formulation process.

All of our products are approved by the AYUSH ministry of India and have gone through rigorous safety testing before being introduced into the market. In fact, most of the Durva team consume our products (and enjoy their benefits!).

With chronic conditions including issues PCOS, menstrual challenges and gut health, it requires some time for the body’s different systems to return to baseline. That is the aim of our products – we want to provide improvement at a systemic level by tacking the root cause, and not create a band-aid solution. PCOS is a condition is the result of a hormonal imbalance of reproductive hormones in women.

PCOD or polycystic ovary disease is a condition in women where their ovaries product a large number of underdeveloped eggs that eventually become cysts. This results in a series of complex symptoms similar to those of PCOS.

Your menstrual cycle is another word for your periods. It is broken into four phases:

• i. the follicular phase - which is from day 1 to day 13/14 during which these cells called follicules on your ovaries mature into an egg
• ii. ovulation - days 14-19: the egg is released by the ovaries
• iii. luteal phase - days 19 to day 28: the released egg travels through the fallopian tubes which connect your ovaries to your uterus. During this phase, your uterine wall thickens.
• iv. your period (menstruation) - day 28-35: if the egg in your uterus does not get fertilized, then the uterus wall sheds and that is what causes your period or menstrual flow.
